Job Description

Role Description

As a highly motivated graduate or trainee Quantity Surveyor you will assist the Senior Construction Manager with the day-to-day management of all construction projects, including tendering, invoicing, and cost management. You will assist with the setting up and implementation of a new Construction Management system and manage the system going forwards.

Key Accountabilities

  • Working with the Senior Construction Manager set up, implement, and manage a new Construction Management system
  • Review Construction project invoices ready for approval by the Senior Construction Manager
  • Issue tender documents for the UK new store, satellite and extension projects and review the tender submissions once received
  • Produce reports on tender package results from new store developments across the UK and Europe
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for capital enhancement spend
  • Working with the Property Assistant, ensure purchase orders are raised for all Acquisition and Construction works

Experience & Skills required

  • MUST HAVE - RICS/CIOB degree in Quantity Surveying (or studying towards this)
  • Working closely with both internal and external stakeholders, you will need to be forward-thinking, personable and able to liaise and communicate professionally with a variety of people
  • Working autonomously, you will need to be self-motivated to achieve objectives and deliver on time with a high attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; you should be a confident and clear communicator with both client and project teams
  • European language skills are highly desirable, but not essential
  • You are detail oriented and able to lead, manage and co-ordinate projects
  • You will have a pragmatic and professional approach
  • You will be confident and proficient with MS Office tools (Word, Excel PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook)
