Sam Welsby

As a Regional Manager, I am responsible for establishing best practice, improving colleague engagement, and motivating my diverse team to be successful. I take pride in knowing all colleagues in my region and regularly visit my sites to ensure we have exceptional standards in every location. 

I contribute to Safestore’s success by developing and implementing a regional plan to inspire and develop my team, through effective leadership, recruitment, coaching and training. I inspire my team to grow the sales and profit performance of every store in our region, whilst ensuring compliance to Safestore policies and procedures. 

Safestore allows to be the free-spirited individual I am. Their values are key to my decisions and core to how I lead, enabling me to create a real sense of belonging and family. Delivering our goals is rewarding and I thrive on this challenge, so when I relax at the end of the day, I know that both myself and my team have added value. 

I enjoy spending time with others, and I’m really enthusiastic about developing relationships, meeting new people and generating great ideas to drive performance. I speak from the heart and express how I feel whilst encouraging my team to speak openly, be brave in their ideas, bringing us together to deliver great things. I always aim to bring my team along with me and make them comfortable to try new things. I’m extremely enthusiastic and committed to giving every colleague the best opportunities in the workplace, bringing all our strengths together to deliver as one. At the end of each day, I ask myself what I have learned or how I have impacted someone positively today.
