Our finance team ensures that we have robust systems, processes and controls in place to manage cash and provide insightful analysis to drive exceptional performance. Tasks include; ensuring the timely payment of invoices, providing first line support to our stores, statutory accounting and the production of financial statements and management reporting.
Our marketing team ensure that customer’s needs are put at the heart of everything we do, ensuring Safestore are well represented in the right place, at the right time and with the right messages. The team deliver an exceptional customer experience throughout the digital channel (including search, social platforms and website) ensuring Safestore are visible and that the journey to becoming a customer is made easy through our website. In addition, the marketing team ensure consistent representation of the brand visually and in customer communications.
The property team manage and improve our existing stores, whilst finding and developing sites for new stores. This includes managing property costs such as rent and rates, managing relationships with adjacent property owners and with landlords of our leasehold properties, and growing income from non-storage space. The property team ensure we continue to grow by reaching new customers through the acquisition of both sites and buildings for new stores. Finally, construction manage the building of new stores and the upgrading of our existing stores to ensure we provide outstanding storage facilities for all our customers.
Partnering closely with our leaders, our HR team provide pragmatic and professional support to all colleagues, whilst actively promoting Safestore’s vision, values and behaviours. Providing support with organisational change, managing a range of employee relations cases and leading on communication and engagement initiatives are just some of the responsibilities of our HR team.
Retail Services and Facilities
Our retail services team work as the first point of call for our stores, supporting them to ensure that they run like clockwork. Activity in this team varies from ensuring stores have the right point of sale and packaging materials to managing a wide range of vendors and suppliers. The team also manages our insurance cover and books all travel and accommodation for our colleagues.
Our facilities team provide a comprehensive facilities management service to our stores. They are responsible for liaising with Head Office departments, stores and contractors in order to procure and coordinate service contracts, ensuring the smooth and effective operation of Safestore’s estate.
Our I.T. team provides the systems, equipment, infrastructure and support for Safestore to do business every day. There are three principal areas of responsibility for the team including Business Support, Infrastructure and Development. These three areas work together to harness the full potential of new and existing systems; providing, supporting and maintaining the right I.T. equipment for our stores and head office.
Our National Accounts team are responsible for managing relationships with our business customers requiring storage or store-based services. The team are focused on identifying new businesses to partner with whilst maintaining excellent relationships with our existing business customers.
Supporting our retail operation, our commercial team analyse a huge amount of information on a daily basis to ensure that the deal we offer to our customers is the best it can be. The team also support the business with data analysis.
